Der VIA K8T800 Chipsatz besteht aus 2 Bridge-Chips: Den VIA K8T800 Pro, also die Northbridge und die aus der K7-Zeit bekannte VIA VT8237 Southbridge, die alle Peripherie-Geräte managt. Über den Ultra V-Link kann die Southbridge mit der Northbridge kommunizieren. Der Ultra V-Link kann Geschwindigkeiten bis zu 1000 MByte/s bewältigen. Unterstützt werden alle Prozessoren, die in den Socket 939 passen.
